Graphical Abstract

Many journals are increasingly requesting the submission of a “graphical” or “visual abstract” alongside the body of the articles, moreover, in some cases, it is mandatory. Therefore, the Organizing Committee has introduced mandatory submission of a graphic abstract along with the abstract.

This is a single, concise, pictorial and visual summary of the main findings of your research. On the one hand, the graphical abstract must be colourful and interesting enough to attract a potential reader's attention. On the other hand, it should convey information about the described research in a concentrated way.

It should not be figure from the abstract but a figure that is specially designed for the purpose, which captures the content of the research for readers at a single glance. Please see examples here.

Submit your graphical abstract as a separate file in the online Abstract submission form.
1. Graphical abstract should be uploaded as a single file.
2. The graphical abstract should have a clear start and end, preferably "reading" from top to bottom or left to right. Try to reduce distracting and cluttering elements as much as possible.
3. Font: please use highly legible sans-serif fonts e.g. Arial, Roboto, Helvetica or Calibri.
4. File type: preferred file types are TIFF, PNG or PDF files
5. Resolution: no less than 300 dpi.

6. No additional text, outline, or synopsis should be included. Any text or label must be part of the image file. Please do not use unnecessary white space or a heading “graphical abstract” within the image file.
