Tour of Stone Belarus

Tuesday, 26 May 2026
Time: 18:00 (till 19:00)
Location: Boulder Museum
Address: Academician Kuprevich str.

Price: Free

Booking: required (please register this event using the social event booking form in your personal account)
About the Event: Join us for a short visit to one of Minsk’s most unusual landmarks - the open-air Boulder Museum.
Here, 2,134 boulders collected from across Belarus are arranged as a large-scale map of the country. Cities are marked by groups of stones and blue spruces, rivers appear as pebble paths, and the highest elevations rise as gentle hills. Many of the largest stones stand exactly where they once lay in nature, turning the park into both a symbolic map and a geological record shaped by ancient glaciers.
Opened in 1985 as a scientific project, the museum is often described as an open-air geological laboratory. Its thematic sections explore the origin, structure, and cultural role of stone - from natural formations to carved and ritual objects.
This one-hour walking excursion offers a relaxed opportunity to discover a unique landscape where science, history, and nature come together. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

About the Event: We invite you to discover the Academical Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture - a space where the spirit of Belarus is preserved in original, carefully studied artifacts.
Here, sacred icons, carved wooden sculptures, ancient tools, woven belts, ritual textiles, and traditional costumes are not simply exhibits. They are living witnesses of faith, craftsmanship, and everyday life shaped by centuries of history. Each object carries its own quiet presence and symbolism.
As you move through the halls, the sacred and the ordinary intertwine. You begin to sense a culture where beauty was part of daily life, where art expressed devotion, and where tradition was passed on with care and dignity.

This visit offers more than a museum tour. It is an encounter with the depth, mystery, and refined heritage of Belarus - a country whose history is both bright and enduring and whose cultural voice remains distinct and compelling.
