Common Mistakes

Below you can find some common mistakes made by participants at different stages.
To avoid these mistakes, we kindly ask you to carefully review the information provided on the conference website.
Conference Registration

✘ Assuming that creating an account constitutes conference registration
(To register for the conference, please first create participant account and then complete the Conference registration form)
✘ Filling in the form in a language other than English (the conference language is English)
✘ Using an incorrect or inactive email address
✘ Not checking information before submission
✘ Missing important emails (e.g., confirmation, payment instructions)
✘ Delaying registration until after the deadline
Abstract submission

✘ Assuming that abstracts can be submitted by email (submissions are accepted via the online form only)
✘ Incorrect file naming
✘ Submitting an incomplete or draft version
✘ Not following Abstract Guidelines and Graphical Abstract Guidelines
✘ Submitting without final proofreading
Abstracts

✘ Not following the official abstract template and formatting guidelines
✘ Exceeding the word/length limit (the abstract must not exceed 1 page in total, including all structure elements)
✘ No references included (At least one reference is required, maximum 3 references)
✘ References are not marked in the text
✘ The title is written in all capital letters or with each word capitalized (Title Case), instead of using standard sentence case
✘ No authors, no affiliations
Graphical Abstracts

✘ Low image quality or incorrect file format
✘ Resolution of the graphical abstract is less than 300 dpi
✘ Using a figure copied from the paper or presentation (It should be specially designed as a concise visual summary of the work, rather than copied from the abstract, article, or slides)
✘ Overly complex and cluttered design
Too much text and long captions
✘ Text and labels that are too small to read. Even well-designed graphics lose effectiveness if the text is not readable
✘ Excessive use of decorative elements that distract from the content
Posters

✘ Incorrect poster size or orientation
Ignoring size or format requirements
✘ Resolution below 300 dpi
Text too small to read from a distance
✘ Excessive use of text instead of visuals
✘ Overcrowded layout with too much text
Poor quality figures or low-resolution images
✘ Overuse of colors or distracting design elements
Oral Presentations

Exceeding the allocated presentation time
Too many slides or overly dense content
✘ Slides overloaded with text
Text too small to read from a distance
✘ Poor slide design (inconsistent formatting, low contrast)
Low-quality figures or unreadable graphs
✘ Technical issues due to lack of testing (especially for online presentations)
